bringing dreamworld’s precinct to life with immersive landscape design

Dreamworld’s revitalized 8,400sqm precinct in the heart of the iconic Coomera theme park introduces an exciting fusion of themed rides, attractions, retail spaces, and dynamic musical performances, elevating the guest experience.

Citicene was engaged to provide expert landscape architectural guidance, ensuring the outdoor spaces seamlessly align with Dreamworld’s evolving vision. A key focus of the design was to create an immersive environment that enhances the themed areas while maintaining long-term sustainability.

curated plant palette enhancing visual impact and thematic storytelling

The plant palette was carefully curated to deliver a striking visual impact, incorporating species with strong aesthetic appeal and commercial availability. Low-maintenance selections were prioritized, along with species resistant to Myrtle rust (Puccinia psidii s.l.), ensuring resilience and ease of upkeep. The landscape design also played a crucial role in reinforcing the Madagascar and Shrek themes, blending natural elements with the storytelling of each attraction.

repurposing mature plants for instant impact

A key strategy was the relocation and reuse of mature plant specimens, providing an “instant impact” that made the landscape feel fully established from day one. This approach not only preserved existing greenery but also strengthened the continuity of the themed environment.
