Claw – Thrill Ride
Coomera | Gold Coast | Queensland | Australia
‘The Claw’ is located in the Beach Themed Precinct at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. This impressive thrill ride is a huge pendulum that swings up to 75 kilometres per hour while spinning 360 degrees.
Positioned in the Beach Themed Precinct of Dreamworld, the landscape character of this ride reflects principles that were developed within Citicene’s plant species Masterplan developed for Dreamworld Theme park.
Reflecting a strong coastal theme, the signature plant specimen is the Screw Pine (Pandanus pedunculatus) which are commonly found along beaches of the Gold Coast.
Pig Face (Carpobrotus glaucescens) is another fantastic plant with strong character and is also found spreading over sand dunes along the Gold Coast.
These two plants in combination with a selection of other coastal species establish and strengthen the coastal theme for the ride. Species were chosen based on their character, form, hardiness and local availability.
Citicene was commissioned to offer a comprehensive array of professional services, spanning from conceptualization and idea generation to expert guidance throughout the construction process.
