South Station Road Community

South Station Road Community is a residential subdivision located alongside Bundamba Creek in Ipswich, Queensland. 

Ipswich is a sprawling city West of Brisbane and rapid development of a lot of grazing land into a sea of houses and residential communities. 

Consideration of the natural assets that already exist prior to establishing a network of streets and residential lots is an important part of developing any residential community. 

This particular development is located along Bundamba Creek and overland flow through the site from adjoining property was an important part of the the design. 

Landscape features of this project included a ring road with formalised streetscape, primary and secondary entry points to the community, consideration of services easements, open space parkland including a stormwater overland flow corridor with kick-a-bout spaces, open turfed areas, rock lined swales and stormwater flow paths and pedestrian links and bridges. 

Other landscape features included decorative roadway pavements, character entry signage, specimen shade trees and feature pedestrian footpaths that link to the adjoining foot-way network.
