designed for accessibility & sustainability

Nestled along the scenic North Pine River in Lawnton, Ron Thomason Park has been transformed into a vibrant, accessible green space that seamlessly connects the river’s southern and northern sides.

This revitalization introduces safe, scenic, and sustainable pathways for pedestrians and cyclists, encouraging active transport while preserving the surrounding natural environment.

seamless connectivity

A key element of the design is a well-integrated shared footpath that enhances connectivity throughout the park. Positioned to minimize environmental impact, the footpath follows the natural contours of the landscape, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey. The footpath is designed to accommodate all users, including walkers, cyclists, and those with mobility aids, making the park truly accessible for everyone.

The footpath seamlessly connects the park to surrounding neighbourhoods, providing residents with a safe and convenient link to nature, recreation, and local amenities. Native vegetation and low-lying groundcovers support local wildlife and reinforce the riverbank, preventing erosion.

Strategically placed evergreen trees offer shaded walkways, creating a more enjoyable outdoor experience. Clear, well-placed signage improves navigation, ensuring an intuitive and welcoming journey.
