Green Square Apartments has achieved International Recognition at the World Architecture Festival and numerous awards and commendations for sustainable architecture through the Australian Institute of Architects. It has also been featured on World Landscape Architecture.
Located in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. BHC – Creating Livable Communities developed this affordable housing project and engaged Citicene for Landscape Architectural services.
green space for living
The building has a central atrium space with individual communal areas on each level.
The intention of the central communal area was to create a green atrium with landscape that extends between levels and throughout the internal entries of each apartment.
community connections
The landscape also included:
- footpath streetscape works including approval and certification;
- lower level commercial outdoor spaces;
- a plant selection tolerant of indoor environments;
- irrigation throughout.
Citicene delivered landscape architectural services from Schematic Design through to Certification and approval with Brisbane City Council.
