Loganlea, Queensland, Australia
As part of a substantial overland stormwater corridor, Stoneleigh Environmental Park adjoins the Stoneleigh residential development and provides a ‘breathing space’ for the surrounding community.
This large development is positioned adjacent to a waterway corridor and as a result includes a significant amount of outdoor space and recreational opportunities for residents of Stoneleigh and other users.
Part of the site involved the creation of a parkland that included a large re-vegetation zone. A more formalized parkland zone forms the interface between the rehabilitation area and the residential areas of the subdivision.
Water Quality and Re-vegetation
The landscape works included re-vegetation works to the creek corridor and creation of wetlands, maintenance access pathways, open grassed areas, planting of locally native species and park facilities such as footpaths, shelters, way-finding markers and fencing.
Large bio-filtration devices incorporated into the parkland and football fields filter stormwater runoff prior to it filtering into the nearby downstream creek.
Citicene assisted Lendlease throughout the detailed documentation and Council approval Stage of the landscape and rehabilitation works.
