Demartini Fletcher developed this office block in the heart of Toowoomba. The project consisted of renovation of a building on the Herries Street frontage and a new office block to the rear.
Key elements of the landscape architectural design were the planting of new advanced Date Palms (Phoenix canariensis) along the Herries Street frontage.
Their distinct form established a presence for the development whilst reinforcing the existing character and identity of the local precinct, which has a number of existing significant mature Date Palms throughout.
The feature pavement bands reflect the ‘blade’ walls of the building, providing continuity in the design between building and landscape. Their visual impact and contrast provide a feature forecourt to the building. Other hardworks elements include feature galvanised SHS screens, planters and seats.
